Civil Service 2025: an opportunity for young people to engage in social commitment

You have until February 18, 2025, to choose to carry out the Universal Civil Service at the international citadel of Loppiano—a unique place to experience learning, giving, exchange, education, and training in the values of solidarity, nonviolence, human promotion, integration, and fraternity.

Through the call for the selection of volunteer operators for the Universal Civil Service 2025, the international citadel of Loppiano will welcome four young people who will be part of the “Places of Participation” project, launched in partnership with Confcooperative Toscana. The project aims to provide adolescents and young people at risk of exclusion with high-quality socio-cultural education, supporting them through inclusive socio-cultural services, recreational activities, and information programs.

• What is the Universal Civil Service?

The Universal Civil Service is a voluntary choice to dedicate several months of one’s life to serving the country through non-military and non-violent defense, education, peacebuilding, and the promotion of the core values of the Italian Republic. It involves activities that benefit communities and local areas.

• How to Apply?

Applications must be submitted by 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2025. To participate in the 2025 Universal Civil Service call, applicants must:

• Be between 18 and 28 years old (28 years and 364 days);
• Be an Italian citizen, a citizen of an EU member state, or a non-EU citizen with regular residency status.

Young people interested in applying must submit their applications online exclusively HERE, selecting the project “Places of Participation.” The Project Implementation Site (SAP), where the Civil Service will take place, is P.A.F.O.M., which can be found online using code 218330.
