Geneva: Prof. Salamanca Participated at the Regional Consultations on Right to International Solidarity

A series of Regional Consultations on the Proposed Draft Declaration on the right of peoples and individuals to international solidarity has been held at the Palais des Nations in Geneve, with the aim of obtaining inputs for the Independent Expert Ms Dandan (20-21 of April). The Additional Representative of NH in Geneva, Mrs Ether Salamanca, also participated, as an expert of international law. She presented an intervention about  Integrating Human Rights in International Cooperation. Mr. Jorge M. Dias Ferreira – main representative of New Humanity in Geneva – was also present.

The event has been organised at the Palais des Nations, Room XXI with the participation of representatives of memeber states and non-state actors from Eastern and Western Europe and others groups of States.

Salamanca focused on three main issues: 1 Coexistence, cooperation and solidarity; 2 The universality of human rights and the element of extraterritoriality; 3 The Proposed Draft Declaration on the Human Right to International Solidarity.
About this last point, prof. Salamanca concluded her intervention explaining how «the Proposed Draft Declaration does not create new State human rights obligations but take into account the new international reality, in which these obligations must be implemented.»

This event is part of a larger framework on which various experts of New Humanity have been engaged since many years in the work of preparation of a proposed Draft Declaration on the right of peoples and individuals to international solidarity.
