Geneva: N.H. delivered an Oral Statement about the Right to International Solidarity to the UN’s Human Rights Council
In occasion of the 23rd Regular Session of the Human Rights Council (27 May / 14 June 2013), New Humanity and others NGOs delivered an Oral Statement entitled: The right to International Solidarity and the Post 2015 UN Development Agenda
The Declaration was presented in occasion of the Interactive Dialogue between New Humanity, the other NOGs which prepared the Statement and Ms Virginia Dandan, Independent Expert on Human Rights & International Solidarity.
The Oral Statement was written by New Humanity, Associazione Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII (APG23), VIDES International (International Volunteerism Organisation for Women, Education, Development), IIMA (Istituto Internazionale Maria Ausiliatrice), Dominicans for Justice and Peace (Order of Preachers), Company of the daughters of charity of Vincent de Paul and OIDEL.
As Ms Dandan repeated a in several occasions, this Document ends with the exhortation to “strive for a socially resilient, more equal and more inclusive world community, and the vehicle that will bring us towards that goal is international solidarity.”
